If you are reading this then you are most likely pondering who your ancestors were
and where they came from.

You might have wondered where the other branches of your family are.

Luckily for you, a number of descendants of the London Jaques family were curious and hence this website, the object of which is to encourage other family members to come forward and also share their knowledge.

Since its inception we have steadily added information to what we knew including an interesting
excerpt from a book by June Badeni.

We know that we descended from a Thomas Jaques who we think was born in Wiltshire around 1765 and made his way to London to become an ivory turner/dealer. His second son, John, went on to start the now famous JAQUES company producing sports equipment and the well known chess set. But whereabouts in Wiltshire did Thomas come from and when was he born?

These days the family has spread wide with new names such as Baxter, Couldridge, Danks, Hinton, Holland, Powell, Reid, Taaffe, Weston, Wilson and many others joining the tree. These names can be found in the Jaques Family Tree index. Just click on a name and follow the line back or forward.
